On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July 2024, for the River’s Gift AFL Junior State of Origin, The Glebe Greyhounds JAFC hosted the Ocean Grove Cobras Junior Football Club for the 7th State of Origin, with 400 children playing 8 games across the Saturday and Sunday. And to top off an incredible weekend, an amazing $50,000 was raised for River’s Gift to drive our genetic research program at the University of South Australia!!
We’re so grateful and feel privileged to be aligned with this event, which started out in 2017 when two old schoolmates decided to arrange for a game of interstate football to be contested between their sons’ teams. It’s incredibly special and has grown to be bigger than we ever could have imagined. The weekend included coverage on Channel 7’s Sunrise (view the segment here), and a special performance by Jason Singh from Taxiride.
